Summer ID Camp Logistics

If you have not already done so, please fill out the R-MC campus visitor’s agreement upon receiving this email by clicking here: https://www.rmc.edu/campus-life/protect/visitors.  Anyone who will be on campus at any time during the day of the ID camp must fill out this form separately even if they are just in the car or walking the town area.

Make sure that you have opted in to our SMS texting option.  If you did not receive a text from us on Tuesday, you have not opted in.  All you need to do is log into your account and opt in for all mobile numbers.  This allows us to contact you immediately and update you on weather issues that may cause camp to be delayed.  This is also important so we can text you when we plan to restart.  Any updates will also be emailed and put on the web page but the SMS opt in is necessary for quick updates than can happen in the summer when the weather is unpredictable.

Please fill out the RMC Acknowledgement Agreement for COVID-19This is a different form than the visitor’s agreement and needs to be done by hand and signed by a parent. Please bring this form with you in hand as you arrive at check in.  Please do not forget this form.

Finally, there is an additional contact tracing form for campers that needs to be done.  This form must be printed, filled out neatly by hand, signed and dated.  Please fill this out the night before camp or the morning of camp.  This will also serve as a symptom check.  Only campers need to do this form.  Please click here to print RMC Visitor Contract Tracing Form

Camp check-in will be from 9:00-9:40 but we should have it open by 8:45. Play will begin at 9:45 or even a little earlier if everyone is present. Camp will go 3 hours, possibly a little more depending on how teams are rotated and how much time is left in their game I have purchased reversible bibs with numbers on them to avoid any issues of shared equipment and help us with the ID process.

A couple of things to know:

  • Players must wear a mask to and from the facility and at any place they may go on campus. Masks can be removed once you cross over on to the playing surface after check-in.

  • Please maintain 10 feet between yourself and another player in the check in line

  • Spectators are not allowed at the facility. I hate this one but feel it is needed so we can manage the camp at the highest possible level

  • Players can drive themselves.  If being driven by a parent, please remain in the area if there is a threat of inclement weather.  Camp would be delayed to a later time of day in that scenario

  • Players must bring their own water and plenty of it.  I will have some bottled water available as overflow, but bring enough water to make it though the event

  • Please bring a ball

  • We will temperature check every player at check-in

  • Check-in will be done at the West Athletic Complex

West Athletic Complex
109 West Patrick Street
Ashland, VA 23005

As you enter campus you have 2 options.

Option 1:

After exiting I-95 travel west on 54. Pass the Wawa and continue going straight.  Make a right on Henry Street.  Travel down Henry Street through the middle of campus.  Right after you pass the freshmen village one floor dorms on your right make a left on Smith Street.  Take Smith Street to the to tracks then make a left then a quick right on to West Patrick Street to cross the tracks.  After crossing the tracks you will see our grass and turf fields.  Make a left and park in the large lot next to the grass field.  From here only players may enter the facility.  Players should walk to the check in line and abide by our physical distancing markers that will be placed on the ground.

Option 2:

After exiting I-95 travel west on 54. Pass the Wawa and continue going straight.  Make a right on Henry Street then a quick left on College Avenue.  Drive to the tracks but do not cross them.  Make a right keeping the tracks on your left hand side.  Right before the road turns make a left on West Patrick Street and cross the tracks. After crossing the tracks you will see our grass and turf fields.  Make a left and park in the large lot next to the grass field.  From here only players may enter the facility.  Players should walk to the check in line and abide by our physical distancing markers that will be placed on the ground.
